We provide fast, same-day service to your home or business.
Mulgrave is a well-established residential and light industrial suburb sitting between Wheelers Hill and Springvale along the Monash Freeway corridor, home to a diverse mix of families, professionals and small business operators across a range of older and newer homes. The tech problems we deal with regularly in Mulgrave reflect that varied demographic. Device setup and software configuration requests are among the most common call-outs from Mulgrave, particularly from households that have purchased a new printer or set up a new Apple device and cannot get everything talking to each other correctly.
iCloud Photos setup and sync issues are a regular job in the suburb, particularly when a client has multiple Apple devices that are not syncing consistently or where iCloud storage has run out and the photos library has stopped updating without any clear explanation. Printer setup and wireless configuration after a new purchase or a network change is another very common request, with multifunction laser printers in particular requiring careful driver installation and network configuration to work correctly across all household devices.
Slow computers on ageing HDDs are a constant, as are virus infections on family machines and NBN connectivity issues on FTTN infrastructure serving older parts of the suburb. Whether you’re dealing with iCloud Photos that stopped syncing across your devices, a new printer that cannot be found on the network or a laptop that is running so slowly it has become unusable, we will troubleshoot your problems and fix it with a minimal amount of fuss.
Can’t find a solution? You don’t pay a cent.

Recent Job – iCloud Photos Sync Setup & Brother MFC-L2750DW Configuration, Wellington Road, Mulgrave
A client on Wellington Road contacted us with two jobs they needed done in a single visit. The first was iCloud Photos on their Windows PC and iPhone which had stopped syncing. Photos taken on the iPhone were not appearing on the Windows PC and vice versa, and the iCloud Photos library on the MacBook was showing a status message indicating it had paused uploading without any clear reason.
The second job was a brand new Brother MFC-L2750DW multifunction laser printer they had just unboxed that they could not get onto the wireless network despite following the setup guide.
Starting with iCloud Photos, we checked the iCloud storage status on the client’s Apple ID. The account was sitting at 98 percent of its 50GB storage plan with only around 800MB remaining, which was the reason the photo library had paused. iCloud Photos stops uploading when available storage drops below a threshold, and because the client had not noticed the storage running low the pause had been in place for several weeks without any obvious notification.
We upgraded the iCloud storage plan to 200GB through the client’s Apple ID settings, which immediately freed sufficient space for the library to resume. We then confirmed sync was active on both the MacBook under System Settings and on the iPhone under iCloud settings, verified that iCloud Photos was set to download and keep originals on the MacBook rather than optimising storage, and monitored the library until the first batch of pending uploads completed successfully. Photos taken on the iPhone began appearing on the MacBook within minutes.
For the Brother MFC-L2750DW we ran the wireless setup wizard from the printer’s control panel. The printer was failing to connect because the home network was using WPA3 security, which the Brother MFC-L2750DW does not support. The printer’s wireless adapter only supports WPA2 and below. The router was a newer Netgear Orbi running WPA3 as its default security protocol with WPA2 compatibility mode disabled.
We accessed the Orbi management interface and enabled WPA2/WPA3 transition mode, which allows the router to accept connections from both WPA2 and WPA3 capable devices simultaneously without downgrading security for newer devices. The Brother connected to the wireless network immediately after the router setting change. We then installed the full Brother MFC-L2750DW driver package on the MacBook and the Windows laptop in the household, configured the scan to email function using the client’s Gmail account via SMTP and confirmed printing and scanning was working from all devices. Both jobs completed in a single visit.
Frequently Asked Questions – Computer Repairs Mulgrave
My iCloud Photos stopped syncing between my iPhone and Mac. What is causing that?
The most common cause is iCloud storage running out or nearly full, which causes the library to pause uploading silently. The second most common cause is iCloud Photos being disabled on one of the devices, either through a settings change or after an iOS or macOS update. Check your iCloud storage under your Apple ID settings first. If storage is the issue, upgrading your plan or freeing up space by deleting old backups and files will resolve it immediately. Read our Mac and Apple device support page for more detail on the Apple issues we handle.
My new printer cannot connect to my Wi-Fi network. What could be causing that?
Newer routers running WPA3 security can cause older printers that only support WPA2 to fail on connection silently. The fix is to enable WPA2/WPA3 transition mode on the router rather than downgrading security entirely. Other common causes include unified 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs where the printer cannot connect to 5GHz, or stored credentials from a previous network preventing a fresh connection. Read our printer and scanner setup service page and our guide on the difference between 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi for more context.
Do you come out to Mulgrave the same day?
Yes, in most cases we can be at your home or business the same day. Call us on 0484 357 559 or hit the book now button and one of our technicians will get back to you quickly.
My laptop is running slowly. Does it need replacing?
In most cases no. Slow laptops in Mulgrave are almost always caused by an ageing spinning HDD rather than a fundamental hardware fault. Read our guide on factors to consider before buying a new computer and our post on why SSDs are worth the investment before making a decision.
Can you set up and configure a new printer in Mulgrave?
Yes, printer and scanner setup is one of the most common jobs we do in Mulgrave. We handle wireless configuration, driver installation across all household devices, scan to email setup and network sharing for all major brands including Brother, HP, Canon and Epson.
Do you work on both Windows and Mac in Mulgrave?
Yes, we work on both Windows computers and Apple Macs including MacBooks, iMacs and Mac Minis. We handle everything from iCloud setup and printer configuration to SSD and RAM upgrades and virus removal.

We back all our work with a 12-month workmanship guarantee, well above the three month standard most repair shops offer. If we can’t find a solution, you don’t pay a cent.
