NBN connected but no internet? Here’s what you can do.

Have you just been connected to NBN, but still can’t get online?

You’re not alone. According to many reports, almost half of all NBN users are still having problems with their internet service.

Here’s what you can do:

First, make sure that all of your equipment is properly set up and connected. This includes your modem, router, and any other devices you may be using. If you’re not sure how to do this, you can find instructions online.

How to troubleshoot your NBN connection?

Are all the NBN lights green and flashing?

If all the lights on your NBN™ connection box are green and flashing, this means your service is active and working correctly.

The power, broadband, and Internet lights will all be green and flashing when the service is connected and operating as normal.

If they’re not, this indicates that there may be an issue with your service. In this case, you should reboot your modem by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Once your modem has restarted, check to see if the lights on your NBN™ box are now green and blinking.

If they’re still not, contact your service provider for further assistance.

Is NBN still not working for you?

If your NBN connection is working, but you still can’t get online, the problem may be with your modem or router.

To rule this out, you can try plugging your device – PC or laptop directly into the router. If you do not see internet working on the device – then the problem is most likely with your modem or router.

A new router could be the answer for a stable working connection.

Will another router help fix the issue?

A second router can provide better coverage or improve speeds.

However, it’s important to make sure that the new router is compatible with your existing network before making any changes. Additionally, you’ll need to configure the new router properly.

If you’re not sure whether adding another router will help solve your issue, it’s best to consult with a professional.

If you’re still having trouble after trying all of the above methods, then it’s time to contact your service provider.

What to do if you’re not happy with your NBN service

If everything looks good on your end, the next step is to contact your service provider – they may be able to help you troubleshoot the issue or offer a solution – you can ask them to send out an NBN technician.

If you’re still not satisfied with their response, you can lodge a complaint with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) which is an independent body that investigates complaints about NBN services. If they find that your service provider has not resolved the issue, they may be able to mediate a solution.

You can also contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) if you believe your service provider is breaching consumer law.
